The City of Commerce Home Beautification Grant Program is funded by the City’s General Fund and is designed to assist income-eligible City of Commerce homeowners with exterior-only improvements to their owner-occupied single- or multi-family homes within the City. The Program aims to enhance curb appeal, maintain housing conditions, and support neighborhood improvement efforts.

Eligible applicants may receive a grant of up to $10,000 per eligible household for approved rehabilitation repairs and, if necessary, asbestos and/or lead abatement. Assistance is provided on behalf of the homeowner as a grant and does not need to be repaid to the City.

Homeowners interested in participating in the City of Commerce Home Beautification Grant Program must complete and submit a Preliminary Application for review.

Please note that submission of a Preliminary Application does not guarantee funding approval or the availability of funds. The purpose of this form is to allow City staff to conduct an initial eligibility assessment to determine whether the applicant may qualify for assistance under the Program.

Applicants determined to be ineligible will receive a formal denial letter indicating their program status and the reason for the determination.

Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis to income-eligible, owner-occupied, single or multi-family homes located within the City of Commerce city limits.

 For those that do not have access to a printer, physical copies of the preliminary form can be found at City Hall, Counter #2 (Planning)

Starting Thursday, April 9, completed preliminary applications must be submitted in person at:

• City of Commerce Community Development Department – Housing Division - 2535 Commerce Way Commerce, CA 90040

  **We will begin accepting preliminary applications on Thursday, April 9 on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to the first 100 submissions**

The following household income limits are determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), effective as of May 2025.

*Household income includes the income of ALL persons in the household who are 18 years of age or older.
